HELP US STOP ILLEGAL DUMPING

Illegal Dumping is not only an eyesore, but also a health hazard.  We also believe that neighborhoods that have a high instance of illegal dumping are more dangerous. Waterbury Crime Stoppers recently announced a new program dedicated to stopping illegal dumping.  We have joined forces with the City of Waterbury Police Department, the Office of Community Development, and the Mayor's Office to fight this unsightly problem.

You can now get CASH for reporting illegal dumpers.  If you see someone in your neighborhood dumping garbage illegally call the Tip Line at 755-1234 and report them.  Any information you can provide such as license plates, vehicle description, and a description of the culprits will all help lead to an arrest and increase your chances of getting a reward.

If you are in an area that is frequently dumped upon, here are some tips:

  • make sure the area is well lite - dark corners invite trouble
  • make sure to keep your property clean - people will throw trash in a place where there already is trash
  • ask you neighbors to keep their houses clean too - clean neighborhoods encourage dumpers to move elsewhere

If you see illegal dumping call the Tipline - 755-1234
