Waterbury Crime Stoppers recently held its 12th Annual Poster Contest. The Poster Contest gives WCS a chance to interact with school children of all grade levels in Waterbury.
Each year students are asked to create submissions based on a theme. This years theme was Illegal Dumping/Fighting Blight. Several hundred entries were received and paired down to semi-finalists which were invited to West Side Middle School on June 13th for the final judging. The judges for the Poster Contest are former art teachers and a WCS Board Member. The student artists were only allowed to use three colors. The winners were determined by who the judges felt best presented the name and phone number of Waterbury Crime Stoppers. They were also graded on neatness, creativity, and visual impact.
The judges had a very difficult decision, only one winner is selected in each grade level from among all of the great entries.
